Home Improvement Tips In Using Window Shades

There are various window treatments available in the market today, window shades being the most typical. These shades provide the softness that curtains and drapes offer but they also have the rigidity and controllability of window blinds. The homeowner is given the best of both the curtain and blinds worlds all into a single window treatment.

Mixing and matching your curtains with your blinds is often troubling for homeowners and the window shades provide a solution. They also come in a wide array of styles and colors that will suit every theme a homeowner could possibly think of.

Window treatments are essential to home décor giving that final touch to enhance the aesthetic and functional appeal of the home.

These window shades come in an endless amount of designs. There are the movable contraptions that allow you to operate your window shades, keeping them closed or opened depending on your needs.

They come in different available textures and fabric choices. And they even come with endless functionality options. One of which is the roller shades which are normally pull-down shades and are relatively cheap. But in the long run they have the tendency to break down and they are difficult to use, too. Another type is the Roman shades, a very popular type, which have folded sections that when opened are easy to operate and offer high insulation.

There is the pleated type, also known as cellular shades. The pleats provide extra layers of protection against heat and the sun. Lastly, there are the hard window shades that are sturdy and durable. All of these are worthy alternatives to the soft fabric shades.

For those who are more interested in the aesthetics, there are wooden or bamboo alternatives which are regarded highly when it comes to their appeal.

It is important that you assess your choices and even design a specific one just for you. Different homes have different requirements.

Q&A: Do you, as a landlord, provide window treatments (curtains) for your tenants?

Question by Starlight: Do you, as a landlord, provide window treatments (curtains) for your tenants?
And, if so, about how much do you spend per curtain/set of 2 curtains. Do you get really nice ones or economical ones at places like Target or Walmart?

Answer by garrisonbight
NO… it’s an optional thing and most renters won’t take care of the window coverings anyway… how many rental houses have you seen with venitian blinds that have had the slats all bent and broken… you never see that in owner occupied homes… just rental units.

They can buy their own window coverings or go without… and most of that trash uses aluminum foil to cover their windows anyway.
