Do curtains convey with a house purchase in Texas?

Question by milf: Do curtains convey with a house purchase in Texas?
We sold our house and at signing the realtor said the buyer wanted all the curtains back. They are NOT custom sized to the windows. They are very taste specific. The red ones in the living room I bought to match my couch cushions and rug. The kitchen curtain matches my rugs and dishes. The bedroom curtains are the same fabric as my comforter set. Every window has custom fit blinds, which we of course left.

They also want the bronze rods and holdbacks for all the windows. Do we have to give them all our curtains?

The rods are considered attached, so they convey. Curtains and tie backs usually are not attached, so unless you made arrangements during the contract period to convey them, they go with you. Your realtor should know that.

Q&A: Apartment dweller with window frames made of aluminum or metal, how can I hang curtains?

Question by bjv24th: Apartment dweller with window frames made of aluminum or metal, how can I hang curtains?
Just moved into an apartment that has aluminum or metal window frames, any ideas on window treatments? I don’t wont to drill any holes in the walls and the blinds provided don’t offer enough privacy and too much light coming in at night?
Help, please.

I am sure that the windows you are talking about are not that deep and that the current window treatments take up the recess of the window. Also if it is like places I have lived they dont want you to remove the provided window treatments.

take some time, really look at the window and frame and wall…
maybe even make something that is freestanding from the floor.

Then design something that suits your needs.

Most importantly… patent your design and try to improve on it then sell it… There are probably a ton of people out there with the same problem as you and you could make money off of finding the solution. Then you can stop renting and put whatever kind of curtains you want up on the windows that you own.

How much fabric do you think I would need to make these curtains? ?

Question by Sky: How much fabric do you think I would need to make these curtains? ?
II’m making curtains for a window about 30 inches wide and 27 inches long, but they want me to make the curtain to drape over the air conditioning unit that is inside the window. How much extra in length, and how much overall do you think i’d need?

Answer by imadriana
You didn’t say how far the a/c juts out or how big it is, but all you need to do is to take a simple measurement. Just take a measuring tape, start from where the curtains will start, then drape the tape over and below the unit to where you want the curtains to lie.

You’ll want to make the two curtain panels the same length, so that when the curtains are open they will still look nice. A rough estimate, if this is a small window unit, will be that you will need an additional yard in length. If the fabric you are using is 60 inches wide, you will need two panels that are both four yards long – a total of eight yards of fabric.

This measurement is for a window treatment that has a top and bottom hem that has a total of about eight inches. Depending on what type of curtains you are making, you will have a little too much fabric, but you won’t waste much.

If you are using fabric that is only 45 inches wide you can still make the curtains using the same amount of fabric but you won’t have enough to make pleats and use hooks. If you are planning on pleating the fabric, you’ll need to add a couple more panels.

I hope this helps! Remember, measure twice and cut once!

What color should my curtains be?

Question by Anissa: What color should my curtains be?
I have a purple sofa and chair. The walls have been painted a cream (off-white) color. I have a sliding glass door, which is the only place that needs a window treatment in the room. Besides the purple furniture, I have no other furniture in the room yet and I haven’t decided on a color scheme. What color should the curtains be?
I don’t have carpet in the basement. I have a brown linoleum floor. I plan to purchase an area rug.

Depending on what shade of purple your curtains are, you can go with a variety of colors. The easiest way to do this, is go to the paint store, (or even sherwin williams online) and find something close to your couch color on the little paint cards (or the closest thing). Then look for the booklet that shows the colors that the purple matches best with. Home Depot even has this in the paint section. You can then pick and a color from there. If your couch is a solid, I would use a patterned curtain to break up the color a little (stripes or flowers or dots) I like the idea of a curtain with a little orange in them. I wouldnt use cream, too plain for someone with a purple couch.

The 2011-2016 Outlook for Woven Cotton Window Curtains Excluding Custom Made Curtains in Japan

The 2011-2016 Outlook for Woven Cotton Window Curtains Excluding Custom Made Curtains in Japan

The 2011-2016 Outlook for Woven Cotton Window Curtains Excluding Custom Made Curtains in Japan

This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for woven cotton window curtains excluding custom made curtains across the prefectures and cities of Japan. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,000 cities in Japan. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of it’s prefecture and of Japan is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-a-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each prefecture and city, latent demand estimates are created for woven cotton window curtains excluding custom made curtains. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the cities in Japan). This study gives, however, my estimates for the latent demand, or the P.I.E., for woven cotton window curtains excluding custom made curtains in Japan. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided and concentrated across the cities and regional markets of Japan. For each prefecture, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time. In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on strategic planning at graduate schools of business.
