Vertical Blinds For Your Windows

When you want window treatments for your office, home or commercial building, then you should consider opting for vertical blind. They are great in enhancing the beauty of your windows, and they are popular for large windows. Vertical blinds have become more and more popular and it serves for different purposes, such as window covers, decorative accents or room dividers. Here are tips before buying:

Pick the right material. The most common materials used in vertical blinds are PVC, fabric or fabric insert. Recently, PVC technology has been improving vastly; hence you will observce smooth or rich textured look.  If you want light filtering, fabric or fabric free hung would be the perfect choice. They do not close tightly when you rotate them shut. They have weighty bottom, so they remain well secured if you have windy atmosphere.

Have your budget fixed. Before you have them installed, set your budget. Their prices differ based on different factors such as material, style, and brand, among many others. Say, wooden blinds are more expensive than vertical blinds. Overall blinds are affordable, but it depends on your requirements and preferences.

You must match with measurements. Regardless of the kind of vertical blinds you opt for, see to it that it is covering the full length of your window or wall. To know the precise measurement, measure the old blinds that you already have. Bear in mind that if the blinds leave few inches, sunlight can sneak through the gap. Also, it is best to steer clear of over-sized blinds since they could cause damage to the wall by putting scratch because of weighty bottom.

Pick your color. This is yet another significant factor when you pick the perfect blinds for your window. It is best to stay away dark colored vertical blinds since the room or home will look dark. The perfect shades would be light pink, light blue and light green. White is also an extremely popular choice.

I am looking for window blinds (or other window covering) that pull up from the bottom of the window.?

Or are there blinds that close by pulling up or down?

There are many blinds that close buy pulling down. Blinds that close by pulling up would be rather inconvenient unless the top of your windows were within arm’s reach.

Blackout Cellular Blinds For Insulating Windows

The windows treatments used depend upon the homeowner. You have to choose the best one for your home. You will base it on your needs. A lot of us use window treatments to block out sunlight, while some use it for decoration purposes.

If you want to cover your windows and at the same time cut costs with regard to electricity, you must then opt for cellular window blinds. It’s a perfect solution to save on costs.

Typically, to avoid wasting electricity, you must come up with solutions like building isolators in the walls, but how many people can afford taking down their entire walls to install isolators? Not so much.

That said, the cellular blinds can do all the work conveniently, and they will save a lot of energy inside the house and prevent the heat or cold air from escaping through the windows.

Cellular blinds also help prevent global warming. It may be strange to hear but holds true. Cellular blinds can also be referred to as honeycomb blinds. They are not so expensive yet very effective.

We should know the benefits of these window treatments to begin with. Because of the continuous rise in electricity bills, it is essential to look for ways to save money.

Generally, there are three levels of cellular shades or blinds. They are single blinds, double blinds, and triple cell blinds. Actually, it is easy to identify which offers the highest levels of insulation for your home. The triple cells are more expensive, but are more secure and insulating too.

The final thing to look into is the cost of the window treatments. They are reasonable in price, but you can find more expensive ones too, whatever works for you.

Always just keep in mind that  it is your call how you want your windows to look like, if the initial ones don’t work for you, you can always opt for some other types.

What can I put up as window treatment on vertical blinds?

Question by _: What can I put up as window treatment on vertical blinds?

Best answer:

Answer by Kathy P
I have verticals on french doors in my den. To soften the look, I made two stationery panels and put them on either side. This allows me to still open the door and when the verticals are open they are hidden behind the stationery panel.

You could also put a valance up but for anything you do you need to remember that the track for the verticals comes out approx. 6-7 inches, so you would need a rod that has at least that depth.
